Oh No … The Battle of The Bulge is ON

by Stepfanie B on June 26, 2010

It’s still here. I thought it would have left a couple of weeks ago. For some reason, it has been so attached to me, that it thinks it can just stay here forever. Sure, I haven’t really addressed it head on. I’ve told it over and over again that it is not welcomed here, but have yet to do anything about it. I mean, how can something just leave if it doesn’t want to? You have to be the one to push it out the door. But here I am just sitting here, without the energy to do anything about it.

So you, extra 30 lbs. sticking around after Addybaby was born, has got to go… NOW!

I know it’s only been a month since my daughter was born, but I must have really been out of my head when I thought that the extra weight would just dissappear. I hate waking into my walk in closet just to see my husbands row of clothes so much longer than mine. My side is full of oversized t-shirts and sweatpants. Oh no!

I have always loved to cutely, with skirts, and dresses, and high heels, and now, I see all my clothes I wore during pregnancy, that I STILL have to wear because my old clothes won’t make it past my thigh.

Yes, I am putting it out there like that.

My Before: at 130lbs                     My Now: at 165 lbs

Now, to be completly honest, this isn’t all vanity for me. I want to lose weight not only to feel more beautiful, but to keep up with my kids. Do you know how hard it is to balance a 1 month old on your arm, take your 3 year old to the bathroom, and try to pick up the excessivly ringing phone, when your panting and out of breath. Not too mention the type of energy you need to chase after that same 3 year old when she’s taken off with your 1 month old in her stroller … at the mall. True story.

I’ve always been naturally “toned.” Even when I didn’t excersive, you could always see the muscles in the legs, calves, and arms. Now, all you see is the lovely cellulite that has replaced that.

Enough self loathing though. The reason for this post, is not a “woe is me – post.” It’s a kick start to getting back into shape. No more cup of noodles while blogging (guilty right now) or deciding I should stay asleep, versus waking up to go jogging.

This is my blog post to heating healthy and getting active.

I’ve dusted off my sneakers, grabbed a bottle of water, and equipped myself with a fancy gym membership.

Maybe a new pair of sneakers to commemerate the moment? :-)

What are your tips for staying healthy? And how do you calculate being healthy: Weight loss, Physical Strength ….?

You go girl! I’m using the new house as a fresh start (since there’s no junk food here yet..) so we’re kind of in the same mindset right now. Although I envy you already because I’ve got a lot more weight to lose- and Shane’s almost 11 months. Bah.
