Waiting For Hubby @ 1:00AM

by Stepfanie B on June 13, 2010

Things I do to pass the time waiting for Hubby to get home from working out of town:

1. Take a bubble bath. With Truly’s barbies and toy boats. Not by choice, but they are just all over our huge tub.

2. Eat rice cake after rice cake. For being flavorless, they sure are addicting.

3. Sit on the couch and try to get AddyBaby to say “momma” to no avail.

4. Take Facebook Pictures of myself. Then delete them because I have yet to lose the baby weight.

5. Google. Everything.

6. Checking the time, every 2 seconds, only to find that only 2 seconds have passed.

7. Calling TrulyBear on the phone because it is a Saturday night and my mother has wooed her to spend the night with promises of chocolate and macaroni and cheese. She doesn’t want to talk to me, “I’m busy Mommy…” she tells me.

8. Counting the stretchmarks on my belly. and everywhere else.

9. Finally go to sleep. Counting stretch marks is way more effective than counting sheep.

Haha love it- at #8 I was going to say you must be lucky because counting my stretch marks would take hours- then put me to sleep. But you finished with #9 so I feel better now. :)

Isn’t it just plain torture when our little ones go to sleepovers at their grandparents’ home, and forget we gave birth to them?? My boys were away on Saturday night(also bribed with cookies and treats, and the Shrek movie-how can I compare?), and we did not even get to talk to them. They checked in form the background while my hubs was on the phone with my FIL. LOL :)

I can completely relate! My husband used to be an over the road truck driver and would be gone for hours, sometimes days at a time. When I knew it was time for him to come home, I would be so anxious that the minutes couldn’t go by fast enough :) I’m guilty with the fb pictures too….3 kids later, with my youngest being 3, I don’t know if I can blame baby weight anymore, but its still there! LOL
