My mother is usually begging to take her grandkids away for at least a couple of hours, everyday, all day. Whenever she can get her hands on them. TrulyBear has spent the night over at her house more times then I can count, but last night was the first time AddyBaby spent the night as well. Of course, I was a bundle of nerves letting my 2 week old child leave my arms and go off with my mother for the night.
Even though my mom is a registered nurse, raised 3 litlle girls, for the most part, single handledly, plus my grandma is there, plus my 2 teenage sisters are there, yet I was still a nervous wreck. But due to the persusuion of my mom wanting to spend time with her, Truly crying to go with grandma, my grandma wanting to spend time with her great-grandchildren, and my husband wanting me to have one night free from insanity, I relucatantly agreed.
See how much persuausion I need to just let me kids go 5 minutes down the road.
So here Hubs and I were, the whole night free from diapers or a wrestling 3 year old. We were both already exahusted from the day, him from working, and me from working with the kids. So we took a late night drive for some nachos and tacos, drinks in the fridge, and decided to call it a night in.
After inhaling our large order of nachos, each, I’m not too big on sharing
, we snuggled up on the counch, turned on the TV to watch Training Day, for the 50th time with him, and then …..
Ended up snoring the night away on our little red couch. We didn’t even make it to the alcoholic beverages. The glamorous life of parents with multiples.
Date night our way without the kids means getting a full night’s sleep. And yes, I made multiple calls to my mother’s house that night as well, only to hear my 3 year old tell me to go to sleep.
Hope everyone had an awesome weekend!

Whew. Glad Im not alone
Sounds like the perfect date night to me. And I have no problem with my oldest staying over, when the baby does for the first time, I know I’ll be the same way.
At least we woke up well rested to take care of the kids, so it was a nice date night. lol
